Welcome Back - Reactivation Celebration Welcome Back - Reactivation Celebration Edit

During the Reactivation Celebration players will also enjoy:

     ● The ‘For War and Glory' AP Event, which increases the amount of AP gained from defeating monsters in the Abyss and Silentera Canyon, and reduces the amount of AP lost from dying in Player versus Player combat in the Abyss and Silentera Canyon (9/21 – 9/28)!
     ● The ‘Behind Enemy Lines' Rifting Event, which removes the defensive buffs in Heiron and Beluslan (9/28 – 10/5)!
     ● The ‘Increased XP Event', which increases the amount of experience players gain from slaying monsters (9/21 – 10/5)!
     ● The ‘Increased Drop Rates Event', which increases the drop rates of loot from all monsters, including Boss Monsters and Named Monsters (9/21 – 10/5)!
     ● The ‘Picking Up the Past' Community Event! Researchers from Elysea and Asmodae have undertaken a bold new project—cataloguing Atreia's history in a new Natural History Museum! Collect Fossils by defeating monsters and bosses, and trade those Fossils in for clothing, medals, and gift boxes (9/7 – 10/5)!
     ● The ‘Ascension Festival' Anniversary Event! During this time each year, all of Atreia gathers to remember the ascension of the first human Daevas, and to praise Aion's blessings. Collect Ascension Energy while adventuring throughout Atreia, and trade it in for costumes, hats, and gift boxes (9/21 – 10/26)!

(For more information about these events, please see the Aion Community Team's Calendar on the official forums, and the Aion 2nd Anniversary page on the Game Guide).

Please Note:

If an account qualifies to be reactivated, the player should be able to log into Aion from the game client. The main account status page will not reflect the reactivation status. Players who feel that they qualify for reactivation but cannot enter Aion through the game client can contact Customer Service.

In order to qualify for reactivation, accounts must be in good standing (not currently banned), and have a retail code applied. Inactive players as of September 15, 2011 (at 12:00 AM PDT) are not eligible.

In addition to the excitement surrounding Aion's anniversary, Aion recently celebrated the launch of patch 2.6, featuring the Crucible Challenge (a new Solo Instanced Dungeon), and the addition of the Auto Group system. 2.6 also boasts the following:

- New Godstones from the Crucible Challenge!
- Fabled Loot Chests from Fire Temple and the Steel Rake.
- Runaway Poppy; a new production pet with a chance to produce Platinum Medals!

For more information about the Crucible Challenge and the other features added in 2.6, please see the 2.6 page on the Game Guide!

Aion continues to evolve with each content update, and while patch 2.6 launched just last month, patch 2.7 is on the horizon and coming in the near future. 2.7 introduces several features, including the Crucible Coliseum, a new PvP arena where Daevas can face each other in single combat, or in a ten Daeva free-for-all.

2.7 also overhauls the Padmarashka encounter, tuning it for smaller Alliances, and adjusting the mechanics to be less…Daevastating.

For a sneak preview of 2.7, including some gorgeous concept art, check out the 2.7 Initial Patch Notes and the Crucible Coliseum and Crucible Coliseum Concept Art pages on the Game Guide!

IP Security Update

IP Security Update edit
IP Security Update

A new security feature has been added to NCsoft® Master Accounts. This feature verifies that players are logging in to their NCsoft Master Account from an authorized computer.

To help prevent unauthorized access to their NCsoft Master Account, players will need to confirm their identity when logging in to a different computer. This new security feature is part of our ongoing effort to ensure a safe and secure gaming environment for our players.

For more information about the IP Security Update, please see our Security Update page.

Character PIN System

Character PIN System edit

Character PIN System

Introduced in early December of 2010, the Character PIN System is one NCsoft’s continued efforts to increase user security and thwart keyloggers. This feature adds a secondary password to each Aion account. Upon logging in to your account for the first time, you will see the following pop up:

Enter a PIN between 6-8 numbers using the mouse; be sure to remember your PIN, as you will need this to log in to your Aion account each time.

Because the PIN cannot be entered using the keyboard, this new security feature renders key logging programs ineffective. In addition, the numbers on the on-screen number pad change positions, rendering programs that track the mouse cursor’s movement ineffective as well.

For more information about the PIN System, please see our Character PIN System FAQ.

Server Merges

Server Merges edit

Server Merges

For those who haven’t soared in Atreia for many months, server merges (which occurred on July 14, 2010) may have moved you to a new server and changed your character’s name.

Here’s a basic rundown of what occurred:

On July 14, 2010, the following servers merged:

North America
 New Siel Server (West Coast)
      Siel & Ariel
 New Vaizel Server (West Coast)
      Vaizel, Kaisinel, Yustiel & Fregion
 New Israphel Server (East Coast)
      Israphel, Lumiel & Marchutan
 New Zikel Server (East Coast)
      Zikel, Triniel, Azphel & Meslamtaeda
 New Nezekan Server (Oceanic)
      No Change

On May 4, 2011, the Nezekan server was merged with the Zikel server.

North America
 New Zikel Server (East Coast)
      Zikel & Nezekan

When the merge occured, characters with names up to 14 letters long had a two-letter server abbreviation added to the end of their name. For example, “Fergreedy” on Azphel became “FergreedyAZ” after the merge.

All Daevas were provided with a free Character Name Change ticket to offset the name change.

For more information about server merges, please see our Server Merge FAQ and the Nezekan Transition FAQ.
