The Social Window allows you to add and remove friends, search for other players to join up with, and block players that you do not wish to have further communication with.

Friends List

The Friend’s List displays the Name, Level, Class, Region, Status, and Notes (use the arrow button to the right of Status to see Notes) of each of your friends.

 

You can "Place a message here for friends" and press the disk button next to it to Save. This will be available to your friends through their Social Window and through your target information.

 

If you’re going to be busy for a bit or don’t feel like being bothered, you can change your online status to show that you are busy (away), or you can go invisible (offline).

 

By default, your Social Window will only show friends that are Online. To show even when their status is offline, place a check next to "Show Offline Buddies".

 

The shortcut for your Social Window is (V).

Search

Sometimes you just need to find someone that can help. The Search tab of the Social Window allows you to search for friends or other players to Group with.

 

Using criteria such as Solo, Looking for Group, approximate level range, Class, and Region, you can find players who are looking to work on similar Quests and Campaigns as you.

 

Perhaps you ran in to someone previously and are trying to find them. You can search for them here by Name. You can also use /who [character name] and it will bring up the player in the Search Window.

 

 

Block

You may find, in your travels, a few players or personalities that you really don’t think of as a friend. In fact, you may not want to speak or deal with that person at all. Using the Block tab of the Social Window, you can add the player’s name to the list and they will no longer be able to directly contact you.

 

And, just so you remember why, you can add a memo next to the name to remind you.
