Want to lead a group in to battle? Or perhaps you have a few groups and need that Pièce de résistance -- the final member in the Alliance?
Shift + V brings up the Find Group window and will land you in the Recruit Group Members tab by default.
You will see a list of others recruiting Group Members (if there are any) and you can choose to join an existing Group. For that topic see the paragraph below on joining a group.
First, Check the Apply for Group Tab
This is where you will find solo players looking to join a Group or Alliance. To keep an eye on new or updated posts: Enable
Auto search when window is closed to place a search icon by your Quickbar, which will flash when posts are added or updated.
More information on the Auto Search Functionality
Double-click on any listing to see the player’s information and invite them to a group or right-click to see options.

If there are too many posts to sort through, use the Search options and Keywords to narrow down the results.
Choose Group or Alliance depending on your interest.
Change the level range if needed.
Sort by a specific Class.
Add in a keyword, such as Fire Temple or NTC, to narrow the results even further.
Now, Here’s How to Recruit Group Members
Clicking on Send Offer will bring up the window shown below. Text allows you 49 characters, so make it short and sweet. Group or Alliance can be picked as Type from the drop-down.
If you choose Group, the post will remain active until you have 6 members or you delete the post.
If you choose Alliance, the post will remain active until you have 24 members or you delete the post.
When you’re ready, click Register and a <Recruit Group> message will be sent to the Local and Looking For Group channel (channels 1 and 3).
You cannot send more than one offer at a time, although clicking the Send Offer button will allow you to edit your existing offer.
** Please note that the conditions below will automatically remove your post:
If you join another player’s Group or Alliance.
If you logout or are disconnected from the game server.
What Happens When I Get a Response?
When a player applies for your group, you will receive a whisper giving you the option to either <Invite to Group> or <Reject Group>. If you accidentally choose reject, you can still choose Invite without the player having to re-apply.
There’s no shame in being a follower, after all, leading a group can be a stressful and (at times) thankless task. With the new Find Group interface, locating a group has never been simpler.
If you don’t want to lead a group, you can choose from the following options (all of which are well accommodated through the Find Group interface):
Locate more players to form a small group.
Join an existing group in the Recruit Group Members tab.
Let someone else find you.
Finding a Companion or Forming a Small Group
When you open the Find Group window (Shift + V) it will take you to the Recruit Group Members tab by Default. Switch to the Apply for Group tab and see if you can find what you are looking for.
The Apply for Group tab is a place for solo players to put their name out and get back to playing while they wait. It’s also for those who hate asking, “Can I join your group please?”
If you see something that peaks your interest, you can double-click to see the player’s information and invite them to a group (as shown above) or right-click to see options.
** Don’t forget to enable Auto search when the window is closed to receive alerts when posts are added or updated. For more details, see the Auto Search Functionality paragraph below.
If you didn’t find what you were looking for, consider one of the other two options below.
Joining an Existing Group
Open the Find Group window (Shift + V).
The Recruit Group Members tab is where you will find Groups looking for members.
At a glance, you can see if it’s a Group or Alliance, what they are looking for, who the leader is, how many members they already have, and the level range of the players in the Group.

If you find a post that looks worthwhile, right-click to see options or double-click to get the group’s information and apply for the group.
If you’re ready, choose Apply for Group. This will send a request to the Group/Alliance leader for approval. They can choose to either invite you to join or reject the offer. Invitations will prompt you to join their group, while rejections will send you a polite refusal via chat.
If you still haven’t found what you are looking for, perhaps it’s time to put up a general application and get back to playing the game.
Seeking Group—Invite Me If You’re Interested!
To put a post up and let someone else find you, go to the Apply for Group tab of the Find Group window (Shift + V).
Click the Apply button
Type in some text describing what you are looking for, but keep it short as there is a 49 character limit in this field. Level, Class, and Group should be left alone as these will be detected automatically.
When you click Register, an <Apply for Group> message will be sent to the Local and Find Group Channel (channels 1 and 3).
Make sure to check off
Auto search when window is closed. That will place the search icon near your Quickbar, which will flash
if a post is either added or updated.
Once you join a group, your post will automatically be removed from the Find Group window.
When you turn on the auto search feature, a search icon is placed near your Quickbar. If there are any updates to a post or any new posts are created, the search icon will flash, and you will receive an alert letting you know that there are new posts meeting your search criteria.
Facts about the Auto search function:
The Auto search feature is turned off by default.
It must be turned on manually in both the Recruit Group Members and Apply for Group tabs if you want to receive updates. If you only turn it on in one tab, you will only receive alerts for that tab.
Posts are updated every few minutes, meaning your search icon will not flash immediately after the Find Group listings are updated.
