Alchemy is a profession that’s part chemistry, part inscription, part magic, and part artistic endeavor. An apprentice Alchemist toils with base substances, grinding up amethyst into powder, making simple mana potions, and distilling ink for simple scrolls. But the concoctions of a Master Alchemist can turn the tide of battle, restoring the grievously wounded and magically exhausted to full health and power. You also create Orbs and Tomes that are potent weapons indeed in a Mage’s hands.

"It seems a waste to spend all that time mixing ingredients together, then come up with something so utterly tasteless."

The Alchemy Skill
Learn Your New Skill
To become an Alchemist, give 3,500 Kinah to Diana (in Sanctum) or Honir (in Pandaemonium) to learn the skill. The price varies slightly depending on the current influence ratio. Once you’ve done so, you’ll see an Alchemy experience bar in the Crafting tab of your Skills window, and you start with 1 Expertise Point out of 99 possible. Each time your experience bar fills up, you gain another Expertise Point until you’ve hit your current maximum. More Expertise Points mean better recipes--and eventually more powerful creations.
Craft Your First Item
The Alchemy Master immediately teaches you two recipes: Lesser Elemental Stone Powder and Lesser Elemental Water. The master also offers you the "Lamplight Supply" work order. You obtain additional recipes through questing, looting fallen enemies and from merchants such as Darius (Sanctum) and Grad (Pandaemonium). As you gain Expertise Points, Diana and Honir offer work orders that are more difficult--and more rewarding.
Advance to the Next Tier of Crafting
Whenever you reach the maximum possible Expertise Points, return to Diana or Honir and pay enough Kinah to raise the ceiling on your Expertise Points, according to the table below. Note that prices may vary somewhat depending on your faction’s current influence ratio. You get one Expertise Point immediately, which moves you up into the next tier.
Whenever you make Orbs or Tomes with Alchemy, you have a random chance to make a Noble version that deals more damage, has better bonuses, and sometimes has more manastone sockets than the ordinary version. You also have a random chance to create rare-quality manastones.
Alchemists want to gather from plant nodes for the herbs that eventually become potion ingredients. Depending on your Extract Vitality skill level, you can gather from the following nodes:

Adventurers commonly acquire powerful weapons, armor and equipment by claiming their just reward for defeating treacherous opponents and completing dangerous quests. However, another completely valid—and at times much less dangerous—method is to simply create them yourself through crafting. Through this process many different kinds of items can be created, many of which are not available for purchase from NPC vendors.

Gathering is a crucial part of Aion, as it supports both Crafting and the economies of Atreia. Even humans can gather from lesser nodes with the Collection skill, and following ascension, Daevas can acquire more potent gatherables with the Essencetapping and Aethertapping skills.
Weathered Objects are ancient objects that have been shaped and altered over the years by sandblasting wind and rushing water. They may not appear to be much, but a seasoned Daeva knows very well what treasures they can possibly contain.
Normally in order to obtain resources, elemental stones, and fluxes, you must venture into the world and gather them from nodes or creatures. Morphing is a way to create these items by using aether, divine power and/or morph catalysts.
A Work Order is a special type of infinitely repeatable quest given by the crafting masters. Their main purpose is to provide a way of increasing the level of a player’s crafting skill. The player will also be given a random ingredient as a reward for successfully completing the Work Order.
