2.1 Part 2 Feature Guide
The 2.1 update focuses on lowering the difficulty of obtaining items.
2.1 wasn’t a one-off update – the first update was an increase of item drop rates. The second part of the update makes changes to crafting and quests.
On January 26th, the update 2.1 part 2 which included changes to crafting and quests was deployed to live servers.
The current update focuses on reducing the burden of crafting, lowering the difficulty of some quests, and increasing quest rewards.

Drop Rates in Patch 2.1
Adjustments to crafting difficulty The number of materials required for crafting has been reduced, the difficulty of crafting expert quests has been lowered, and obtaining Balic designs has also become much simpler in order to encourage more people to try crafting. |
Adjustments to quest difficulty and rewards Lowered the difficulty of spy quests and Level 50 Daevanion quests, and reduced the number of repeats of some repeatable quests. In addition, rewards for Campaign Quests have been increased significantly so that clearing Campaign Quests is now a must. |
Easier Level 50 Daevanion Quests
The Level 50 Daevanion quests, notorious among players for being extremely difficult, are now easier!
Quest NPCs always spawn at designated times
NPCs that used to have a chance to spawn designated times now always spawn at those times.
|

No More Tears shed over the Tears of Luck? |
Chance of obtaining Light of Luck and Tear of Luck has increased significantly
Completing the final Level 50 Daevanion Quest requires Tear of Luck or Light of Luck. These items are also obtained through gathering, and the chance of gathering them has increased significantly. Elyos can gather them from Perer, Griffonia or Lunime, and Asmodians from Cippo, Leopis or Grobule.
Also, when Light of Luck or Tear of Luck is gained directly instead of through gathering, all group members can receive them.
Defeating Captain Zanata on the Chantra Dredgion clears the quest
Defeating Captain Zanata on the Chantra Dredgion now counts towards killing a Dredgion Captain.
Now players above level 50 will have an easier time completing this quest.
Better Campaign Quest Rewards
Campaign Quests now give better rewards. Rewards include bundles of manastones and enchantment stones, and a range of other items!
In particular, there have been significant changes to the final Campaign Quests for each region which now give new weapons and wing feathers of Fabled rank as rewards.
Unfortunately, changes to rewards do not apply to quests that players have already completed.
|

A Fabled weapon as a Campaign Quest reward?! Yes, please! |
New Fortune Pet
|

The Headstrong Poroco speaks softly, but carries a BIG stick (with a fist on the end of it)! |
A new fortune-type pet is available from pet merchants in the major city of each faction (Sanctum / Pandaemonium).
The new pet is Headstrong Poroco, which gives the "Box O’ Wings?" that contains various gatherables and has a low chance of yielding new Eternal wings.
The pet merchants in the major city of each faction (Sanctum / Pandaemonium) now also sell a new pet food, and the new pet Headstrong Poroco eats only the new pet food (Existing pets can also be fed with the new pet food).

The drop rate of Special Material Items dropped by certain monsters has also increased significantly.
|

Recipes for Crafting Procs
Formula of Fine Design 3 Common Items + 3 Fluxes + Vendor Item A + Vendor Item B = 1 Greater Output Item! |
Some common rarity items, which have been regarded as ‘failures’ in crafting, can now be reused.
The new fine design added in the current update has a 100% chance of crafting a Greater Output (procced) item by using 3 Common rank items as reagents. You can buy this design with Kinah from crafting merchants in the major cities of each faction.
These recipes require not only Common rank items but Fluxes and consumable items (Pellan, Squaro etc). You can also buy consumable items with Kinah from crafting merchants in the major cities of each faction.
Please note that this design is for Common rank -> Superior rank only, and designs for other ranks (e.g. crafting a Heroic rank item using 3 Superior rank items) aren’t currently available.
Purchase Any Balic Designs Whenever You Want!
Obtaining Balic items is now easier!
The drop rate of Balaur materials dropped by Balaur has increased.
The drop rate of Balaur Heart type items needed for acquiring designs has also increased.
|
A difficult aspect of crafting Balic items is acquiring the designs. Many players have frustrating memories of wasting countless Balaur Hearts just to get a single design they are after.
But after this update, players can buy the design for any Balic crafting item they want by paying with Balaur Hearts. Designs are available from the Design NPC on Tigraki Island who used to exchange Balaur Hearts with a random design.
You also don’t have to be an Expert of a crafting skill to buy a design, though you must be an expert to use it.
Easier Expert Crafting & Expert Gathering Quests
The Expert crafting and Expert gathering quests, which have been the bane of many players, have become much easier.
Changes to Expert Crafting quests
You no longer have to meet the strict requirement of achieving 2 or 3 successful crafting criticals to obtain the item needed to complete these quests. You can now become a crafting Expert simply by purchasing materials and designs from the store and crafting successfully just once.
Simply put, buy a single-use design and other material items from the store, and craft successfully just once and the crafting Expert quest is cleared!
The designs come in 25% success rate designs and 100% success rate designs, so feel free to choose.
In any case, thanks to this update players no longer have to go broke to acquire second or third critical items.
Changes to Expert Gathering quests
The gathering rate of quest items needed to become a gathering Expert has also increased significantly.

It’s Now Easier to Acquire Siel’s Weapons!
|

Siel’s weapons are renowned for their fancy rose motif design. |
Players had to clear 3 quests in order to acquire the ultimate version of these weapons, the Siel’s Dominant, but it was no easy task. However, this update has lowered the overall difficulty of those quests.
If you have been putting off finishing the quests, this would be a good time to resume from where you left off.
Reduced the number of Noxallon Ingots needed to upgrade from a Siel’s Supreme weapon to a Noble Siel’s Supreme weapon from 11 to 1
Reduced the number of Balaur Relics needed to upgrade from a Noble Siel’s Supreme weapon to a Siel’s Dominant weapon from 30 to 6
Reduced the number of Blessed Aurium Ingots needed to upgrade from a Noble Siel’s Supreme weapon to a Siel’s Dominant weapon from 20 to 1
Significantly increased the drop rate of Vorpal Essence needed to upgrade from a Noble Siel’s Supreme weapon to a Siel’s Dominant weapon.
