Welcome to the Public Test Server! The test server exists to ensure that new content is working smoothly before it reaches the live servers.

Use your regular account name and password to log in to the server. If you are new to Aion or have come back you will not be able to login until our database cycles at 6am CT. If you are still having problems and it has been 24 hours since your account was activated please contact support.

One of the main goals of the PTS is to prevent bugs from reaching the live servers. In order to obtain the most details as possible we request you submit your bug through the in-game petition client; this will provide us with the best opportunity to verify your bug.

In your submission, please include:

 Bug Summary
 Steps to Reproduce
 Location when bug occurred (/loc if possible)
 Character Race
 Character Class
Character Name

Providing other information such as your hardware, how long you were playing, screenshots, and anything else that could be related is appreciated. Additional information is always welcome and very helpful to our QA team.

You may also utilize this forum for discussion of PTS content but the in-game petition client is the preferred method for bug submission.

What is the PTS?

The PTS is a server used to publically test game content a little bit in advance of pushing it to the normal game servers.

How do I access it?

The public test server (PTS) is accessed with a separate Aion client. You must install this PTS client, even if Aion is installed on your PC already. There are two ways to go about with this, one which requires much less time and bandwidth. Keep in mind that while these instructions will help you get started, the PTS will not be available before the 29th of April.

Method 1: Duplication of Already Existing Installation

1. Browse to the Aion installation directory on your local hard drive.
2. Copy the folder and paste it into the same location (for example, “C:/Program Files/NCsoft/”).
3. Rename the new folder to AionPTS. The name must be changed to exactly “AionPTS” for the copy to work.
4. Boot up the NCsoft launcher. The NCsoft launcher should detect the newly created folder as the PTS client and list it in the left pane of the launcher.
5. Patch (if needed), and launch the game!

Method 2: Fresh Installation

1. Download the 9.8 GB Aion PTS client installer from one of the following locations:

GamersHell

FilePlanet

2. Launch the installer and follow the installation instructions. A new game title, “AionPTS,” will appear in your NCsoft launcher.
3. Patch (if needed), and launch the game!

What is my Login-Name/password?

Log in using the same username and password that you do as on the normal servers.

Are there any differences between the PTs and the normal Servers regarding XP/AP/Drops?

You will see a substantial increase to experience gain, Abyss Point gain, crafting/gathering and item drop rates.

I would love to test with Elyos as well as with Asmodian characters. Is that possible?

Yes! It is possible to create characters of both factions at the same time.

I already have 8 characters on the live servers. Will that cause any problems?

No. Feel free to create as many characters as you want on the PTS. They will not count as “normal” characters

Will there be a newer version of Aion on the PTS than on the live servers?

Yes. We plan to bring future updates to PTS first, so that players are able to test the new content and find mistakes prior to the release on the live servers.

I realized it is the same version on the PTS as it is on the live servers at the moment

At the moment: Yes. We want to test integrity of the servers and patching/updating before we put 1.9 on it.

Will there be any GM support?

No. As the servers are for testing only, there will be no GM support. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have rules for the PTS. We will monitor the PTS as we do with the live servers.

Is it possible to play on the PTS in German/French?

Yes. Just set your language to French/German in the launcher.

Is it true that characters on the PTS may be deleted?

Yes. As the PTS is for testing purposes we may need to change / delete characters when it comes to specific testing situations.
Is it possible to copy my characters from the live servers to the PTS?

Not at the moment. If it comes to a situation where it is needed to copy the characters, we may enable this option in future updates.

Current Known Issues with the PTS:

1. The PTS Client is currently the same client as Live

2. Currently If you have 8 characters on the live servers you will not be able to create a new character on the PTS - This is being worked on
